The Role:

You will sometimes be the key person who helps encourage and assist the service users to do the things they want to do in life. You will help devise and implement programmes to encourage more self-help and develop new ways of helping service users cope with life events. The service user is at the centre of what we do and you will be part of the team trusted to listen to and support their wishes. The skill support you offer service users will also include; general and social skills, accessing community leisure and educational facilities and support to obtain and support with employment as well as day to day needs. As a Support Worker you will play a vital role in the development of the service user’s skills and communications.

You will be:

  • Passionate with the desire to make a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities
  • Committed
  • Enthusiastic
  • Flexible
  • With excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience as a support worker – desirable
  • Preferably qualified in or willing to undertake a Health and Social Care Diploma Level 2 and/or Level 3 (or equivalent e.g. NVQ).
